A bit of excitement, just a bit...

Today while Sean was out working on the sprinkler system, I came out to see what he was up to. I noticed that the house in front of us had an open door. This house is in foreclosure and has been empty since about September. I went in to check it out (amid protest from my husband, but I was so curious!). When I got in there, it was awful... they broke out the windows, took a crowbar to the doors, pulled down the suspended ceiling, knocked over the appliances. I backed out quickly and decided to call the non-emergency police number. To my suprise, I got a call back from an officer and then he came to the house about an hour later. He was very nice and talked with us for about an hour. He called in the K-9 unit and they went through the house. I don't think they found anything, probably just kids making trouble. It made me feel really good though, that they came over and took it seriously. Having cars with lights on out front for a couple hours should be a good deterent too. Hopefully the mess will be cleaned up soon and no one decides to mess with our house... But we have these super scary attack dogs at our house to keep us safe:

Yikes! That is crazy. Kids busted in my husband's truck a week ago, but luckily our insurance fixed the window they smashed.
