I've been MIA for a while, but I have a good excuse (and a cute one, too!). I'm so excited to introduce you all to little miss Olive Kelly Austin. She was 8 pounds 4 ounces and 20" long, born 3/3/11 at 6:06 pm. If you recall, her name is one that is very special to us. Also, it's adorable and I LOVE it.
Our labor was pretty easy, only lasted about 9 hours total and I only had to push for about 10 minutes. That was quite a relief compared to the 2.5 hours of pushing we went through with Natalee. The only bad thing was that the epidural didn't work at all in my nether regions so I was lucky enough to get to feel everything.
I made my own hospital gown and it was the talk of the Labor and Delivery floor. I also had a super cute pillowcase and an adorable robe. I'm a little craftier than I realized until I got there.
Another cool thing... my friend Brandy came and photographed the birth. I wasn't sure about this, but I'm so glad she was there. This is the only picture she has posted so far, but I stole her camera after and looked at what she got, I can't wait to share more!
Here are just a few more of little miss Olive, obviously taken by me and not a professional. We are having her newborn pictures taken this weekend. I can't wait to see what she gets.
One more little note: I've written a lot about my struggles to breastfeed Natalee... but I'm actually doing it this time and it's working. My milk came in and I haven't had to supplement at all. Today we had another weight check appointment and she is finally having good weight gain. I am really proud of her and of me too:-) I'll try to be a better blog friend, I haven't opened my reader in over a week... it's probably sorta scary.
